What we did
A faded, chalky blue metal building got a full exterior repaint in a clean modern gray. We power washed the panels, primed the rusty spots and sprayed two coats for an even finish on the ribbed siding.
Metal siding loses its color to the sun and gets a chalky film that new paint won't stick to. We started with a full power wash to remove the chalk, then spot-primed every rusty screw and scratch with a rust-inhibiting primer.
The panels were sprayed with two coats of a direct-to-metal acrylic, with drop cloths along the base of the wall and the HVAC units covered. The business stayed open the whole time.
